What is happening to people lately? Are you all regressing to 1998?

When Steve said MS doesn´t have to lose for Apple to win, he upped his standards. Now up yours!

Second thoughts I do. Developers, developers, developers......

Like what the fuck does that even mean. Anyone can say any word they want over and over again, but what does it prove other than the fact that he clearly lacks self control.

The only reason someone would act this way, is they are nervous, confused, angry, mentle cases, or lack the words or the confidence to articulate what they are really trying to say. What they really want to say. Or maybe he's just thick.

I've not much interest in M$, but if they don't fire this guy. Not that i'm anti-M$ for no reason other than their boring & dull and have market share, a lot of which clearly should be apple's. If they don't fire him soon, it doesn't say much for managemant or the company itself.

    Rock on apple! Happy Birthday!

"I will admit quite frankly that I think Windows today is probably four years behind, three years behind where it would have been had we not danced with IBM for so long. Because the amount of split energy, split works, split IQ in the company really cost our end customer real innovation in our product line and so whenever I hear these criticisms which I gotta to say sting eh sometimes, I say to myself just you watch, just you watch Windows 95, Windows 9...there's no lack of focus there hasn't been here for the last three or four years since we didn't have this big spot with IBM. Even in the operating systems here now, you'll start to see clear, clear...and people will recognise clear leadership."

If Balmer was serious, he and his kids are missing out, as the iPod really is the best mp3 experience out there and google really is the best search engine, IMHO, of course. That's why they are head and shoulders above the rest. I don't recall using MSN to search in about 5 years.

    He should try Firefox, too.

Wait...there are other mp3 players other than the iPod?

And what is this MSN Search you speak of?

    (I can't imagine why "search.sympatico.msn.ca" isn't as popular as "google.ca")

Suggesting using an iPod and Google is bad behaviour, what the hell is this guy smoking??

    This guy is a nut-job !!

Of course they were kidding. Ballmer's a Mac-using, Firefox-browsing, google-searching, ipod-listening, FOSS/GPL-loving guy like the rest of us.

Of late I am beginning to see a few posts in various fora by a member called Ireland that (to me) seem to have no relevance to the topic being discussed. There is usually a picture accompanying the post, again, the relevance of which I fail to see.

Am I just too dumb to understand his posts?

Balmer's nuts, that's the point! He said publicly that he's got his kids brainwashed into not using iPods!

didn't ballmer make like a ba-zillion (rounded to the closest "zillion") dollars on cashed-out stock options recently? my point is, he's friggin' ridiculously wealthy,a nd therefore his kids can have anythign they want, probably have access to a million different one-of-a-kind toys from microsoft (you'd be amazed at how rich execs will waste their own staff's time to make one off toys for them... completely oblivious to their own business model), so of course they don't have ipods. they probably have their choice of the one-off 80 GB Creative IttyBittyZenMicro that ballmer had someone make (or received for christmas from creative so they would maybe get a licensing deal). it probably does HD video, only has one button and voice recognition, etc., etc., etc. say all you want about interfaces and such, but when you are HANDED that sort of stuff, why would you care whether your media was coming off an ipod or a windows media player? what, you think ballmers kids will be teased at school for not having ipods? all they have to do is say "my dad is steve ballmer. he can buy your parents 700,000 times over if he wanted to" and be done with it. hell, i'll take that brainwashing any day.

we tend to forget these people are not your average person under average circumstances with average means.

and yeah, i think ballmer was being tongue in cheek. problem is, when he does it, it generally comes off creepy.

No, you are too mature to understand his posts.

Ireland dear, we're all happy Mac users here. Just refrain, if not tone down, your zeal a tad bit. You come off as a little too smothering and loud. This is the main reason why a lot of the guys here are aggrevated with you. Let's all make an effort to get along as well as we can, okay?

Besides, do you really want to come across as someone who acts like Ballmer? Think about it, sweetie.
