    If you're talking about Dreamweaver MX, you may be disappointed with your manual. It's neither big nor helpful. Most of the time, you are still going to have to turn to the on screen help. I agree that it sucks though.

    I've gone back and forth between the two, but I always come back to DW. GoLive, as others have said, produces bloated code. That's not the problem I have with it though. It's nearly unfathomable, at least for me. I like to throw together a design and then go through and customize it (for dynamic content and what-not). It's nearly impossible to do that with GoLive. All those external scripts, I can't keep track of them.



    On the plus side, GL's integration with PS is great. You can put a psd file right into GL and go back and forth editing it and optimizing it right there. There's nothing like that for DW.



    But I still greatly prefer DW because I can understand what the hell it's doing.
