Well, in that case, they'd have to fight not Mac Pro, but M?A?C Pro. And while they'd have a chance against an online Mac retailer, they'll have no chance against a cosmetics firm.
You never know, they might come out of the case looking good!
I couldn't resist it.
They might negotiate a nice deal with M.A.C.Pro given the different nature and rather harmless (though I'm not exactly sure about this) nature of the site. Apple gets the domain name and M.A.C.Pro get a bit of cash they would never have dreamed of (nor could anyone imagine).
M.A.C. at least is a different line of business, unlike another company. However, the REAL Mac Pros are Steve Jobs and Co.
If you want to support Apple, then you'll change the name of your store rather than hurt Apple with a pointless fight you are bound to lose.
How much is it really going to hurt you to change your name, if that's even necessary?
Did it ever occur to you that by using "Mac" in your name in the first place, you were using Apple's trademarked product name without permission?
It never ceases to amaze me how some of Apple's supposed "biggest fans" and supporters and the ones who are the first to feel righteous indignation and attack Apple at the drop of a hat. Just like rumor sites that steal Apple's thunder by blowing the lid off of stuff that is kept secret for a reason.
Bottom line people, if seeing Apple succeed in the world of the Microsoft evil juggernaut matters at all to you, then you won't undermine them for your own silly, selfish reasons.
Well, what about macpro.com, Apple would need that domain, they have macbook.com, powermac.com, ipod.com and so on, and I could honestly see them winning, Mac was their trademark first, and selling and serviceing computers could be considered direct competition to the apple store, both retail and online/phone -- and I get the feeling that 1-800-My-Apple or an equivelant was up and selling long before 1988-- thus it is direct competition, and the way mac-pro uses the Mac name, it is obvious, even to "an idiot in a hurry" that they are marketing Apples computer systems.
