I wonder if they will ever offer the Macbook in different "fashionable hues" (a.k.a. colors) as rumored.

That with a superdrive and 512mb ram standard (in the base model) would have me sold in a second.

Why couldn't they offer this on the basic 1.83GHz model? I'm about to purchase one, and would much prefer to walk into a store and pick it up!

Dude, just get the RAM yourself; you pop out the battery and unscrew a plate -- If you can tighten a loose door knob, you can swap out the RAM.

2GB from newegg $162, 1GB (single modual so you can keep at least part of the stock ram and upgrade more later) $80.99

Here is a video showing you how...video clip on youtube

ok im sorry. this black macbook is not working out. making tons of extra configs is not a money maker when you ahve to split them between white and black and when people have natural prefs from one to the other. hence if you want the ultimate in white, your out of luck at the store and such.

Whats more, the vast overpricing of the black paint is stupid. this is what apple needs:

    1 Entry

    1 Middle of the road

    1 Ultimate

they can choose to only make certain models in black, like:

    1 Entry (white)

1 Middle of the Road (white/black)

    1 Ultimate (white/black)

This would push people to get the higher end models if they really wanted black-- but not when it costs $150 more and the configs are just annoying and confusing.

I predict apple will change these configs closer to what ive said either before christmas or after, hopefully for apple before. This price system is just retarded. Apple, KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID!

They just tried yellow/orange, but it didn't prove too popular.

I know wtf! That's the only reason I can't get the 1.83 I need a superdrive for the road.

I'm sorry but the black color in my opinion always looks, and is better than the white, and I understand why it costs more.
