This is a picture I'm pleased with, not so much for the image itself, but for what I thought was a pretty good Photoshop job of cleaning it up and getting rid of a bit of messy, mostly temporary, reality cluttering up the shot:
(Removed: crane, fence, lamp shadow, cleaning supplies, rooftop antennas, other stuff along wall at right, person on other side of wall)
Nice photo. That's the British Museum, correct? I went to London and stayed at a bed and breakfast a block away from the museum. I'd get up early and would spend an hour or two every morning in a different part of the museum before I went on my trek through London.
I will have to post some of the shots I took from that trip and when I went to Ireland...(they're at home though, tonight)...
Also, my favorite picture Celemourn is "Sky Burn". That must of been one pretty awesome moment.
Thanks . South Haven, MI, where I took the photos (most of them) has some really great sunsets. It sits right on Lake Michigan (I THINK it's lake michigan.... I'm a geography dummy! The one on the LEFT!) and is one of my favorite spots to shoot. Though I've never been able to accurately reproduce the colors (lack of experience I think), a little bit of tweaking of the RAW images has provided some nice stuff, IMO. This particular excursion was really cool, because just as the sun dropped below the horizon, some people who were walking down the pier toward me pointed behind me and said something to the effect of, "Hey, there the moon, too!" I whipped around and got treated to the moon rising above the trees and resort-ish condos. Uber cool. Didn't get many good shots of that though. I still haven't figured out how to get good shots of the moon... always over-exposes the moon, and underexposes everything else.... must be the lens.. yeah, better buy more lenses... Anyone got a spare $3000 so I can get an f1.5 800mm lens???
On a personal note, I think three of my all time favorite shots that I've captured are "Sundown ..." from the recent post, the partial panorama of the trees framing the flagpole (bout in the middle of the page) and the shot of the power plant from across the cooling pond (most of the way up). I particularly like the clarity and breadth of spectrum that I got one "Sundown..." I'll have to figure out how the heck I did that one of these days...
The view I was treated to for climbing up to over 8000 feet on the little annapurna peak in the enchantments (Washington). I don't know which lakes those are, but we walked around them on the way up. I got a little dizzy from the view.

I didn't take this one, but I wish I had:
that's... rather... frightening.
The niece and nephew shot is really cool. I like the silhouette and the moment it captured.

gorgeous.
This is sunset outside of Kilkea Castle where my cousin was going to get married.
Kilkea castle, a hotel, restaurant and also had a golf course in the "backyard".
In the small town of Kilkeni the pub was stocking up for the football match...
The owner of the bed and breakfast we stayed in had a very restless cat...
This is me tying my tie before walking my mother down the aisle at her wedding this past December.
