I don't 'codi' is a real latin verb. I don't think there is a latin verb to 'code' ... maybe "encode", but not "code"

WWDC-Day, like certain holidays, is a time of love and sharing with friends and foes. Happy WWDC-day to you, Placebo.

Wow. This thread really makes me ashamed. And I'm not even an old dude. Seriously, I've never even taken latin and I can't say I'm some kind of history expert. But, "Veni, vidi, vici."? Never heard of it? What drugs were you doing in elementary school?

I thought the same thing. I looked up the Latin dicitonary and it doesn't suggest code at all:

    http://archives.nd.edu/latgramm.htm

You type the first part then the letter at the end so it would be cod in the first box and i in the second. You then get for the translation of codi:

    Quote:

    coda see cauda.

codex (caudex) -dicis m. [the trunk of a tree]; as a term of abuse , [dolt, blockhead]. Transf., [a book (made up of wooden tablets, covered with wax)]; esp. [an account-book, ledger].

codicarius -a -um [made of tree trunks].

codicilli -orum m. [little trunks , logs]. Transf., [small tablets for memoranda]; hence [a letter, petition, codicil, rescript].

    Looking up cauda, we get:

    Quote:

cauda (coda) -ae f. [the tail of an animal].

    caudex = codex; q.v.

Caudium -i n. [an old city in Samnium , near the pass of the Caudine Forks]. Adj. Caudinus -a -um.

It could be translated: I came, I saw, I made fun of Vista for being so far behind. That would tie in with their posters.

But since it is a developer conference, I guess it could be translated as I coded. Bah, I hate it when people use obscure languages.

You did intend this to be a joke right? Latin oh no not THAT obscure language again.

I wouldn't have asked but after the knowledge shown in this thread has given me pause...

Ha ha... I changed my mind. I don't want to lose my faith in humanity so I'm going to assume these clueless posts are meant to be big joke.

    LOL. Good one guys! Haha!!
