If you have evidence of fraud, you shouldn't be vetting it on apple forums, because it makes you look like a weasel instead of someone with a legitimate fraud complaint.
I think we can take it as a warning/ word of caution. I think it is a worthwhile post on these forums.
Just like http://www.maclife.com/forums/post/1291659 seems interesting, it will be up to the reader to be prepared and/or take things with a grain of salt, do their own research, etc.

The list above is taken directly from strangedogs.com itself so it's a little more than a grain of salt IMHO.
The only reason people are posting it elsewhere is because the site has banned the people from posting anymore or for anyone else defrauded from adding their names to the list forcing people to air their complaints elsewhere. Oh, and the person who perpetrated this is STILL a moderator at Strangedogs.com ( Rubytuesday / Amacapart / west_coast_supplies ) and is also still recommended and promoted by the websites I listed. Amazing!
could a mod check that comicbookenator and nvidia2008 are not the same person...
given the fact that this individual seems hell bent on taking on strangedogs.com so loudly... it would be nice to see this done in a rational one person one voice way...
could a mod check that comicbookenator and nvidia2008 are not the same person...
Given the fact that THIS INFO IS ALREADY ON THE STRANGEDOGS WEBSITE ITSELF in addition to this website and various other forums, doesn't that request at the very least seem silly if not dangerously suspicious?
I wonder, could a mod check that hardeeharhar is not a member and/or moderator of strangedogs.com and/or profiting from this fraud and hence complaining as other strangedogs members have on other websites in a desperate effort to get this information removed?
And yes, people have succeeded in getting this information removed from other forums that have promoted this particular Strangedogs.com scam by this particular strangedogs moderator. I also imagine that this info is quite embarrassing to several popular Mac websites mentioned above and there are lots of people that might want it removed because I've turned over a lot of rocks with this. But sometimes the truth is not pretty and it hurts. This is one of those cases.
mitch, I have nothing to do with strangedogs or its associated sites. I offered you advice with respect to the proper legal course you should take. Take it. These posts don't stop the fraud and don't get your money back.
strangedogs has discussions and has made hacks free to those who want to make cheaper.PC video cards run in Macs. I've read the discussions on strangedogs about a guy who used their ROM work to make and sell on ebay as his own. I think his abusive reply flames that were traced to 1 IP with numerous users that caused a free site to change to registered user. May be the same user here with multiple posts.

Not true. The free www.Strangedogs.com website changed to registration because their moderators had ripped so many people off of thousands of dollars on the website as posted on their website and other websites that they couldn't ban the complainers fast enough and obviously were not being honest with their members. And still aren't by the way.
As for people stealing their work, all of the people complaining about that appear to be former ebay sellers suspended by ebay for various infractions and nearly all of the ebay sellers selling Mac-flashed video cards appear to have been or are strangedogs members themselves at one time or another. So who exactly is stealing from who again? Isn't this just a bunch of failed ebay sellers all whining over their failures? Sounds like inside baseball to me.
And the multiple IP address thing you mentioned, yeah, I saw that at Macgamefiles (if you google any of the names in this thread you'll find most of the info mentioned in this thread in other places). But the only problem with your complaint is that the person who claimed he could identify that person on Macgamefiles then went on to rip dozens of people off of thousands of dollars with the blessing of the Macgamefiles moderator (see above), then dozens of strangedogs members like the strangedogs cult members posting here defended the guy claiming it didn't happen. If you were just 1 person ripped off of hundreds of dollars and had to compete with a cult-like following that these strangedogs members are, wouldn't you have to take desperate action to get the truth out in hopes of getting your money back? I would think you would.
What Strangedogs.com cult members do is they flood forums like these with falsehoods that are all the same message for and against the same people over and over again, all different IP addresses, different people, all speaking the same same cult-like mantra.
Which is more truthful to you, that a cult-like forum named www.strangedogs.proboards40.com ripped off people of thousands of dollars or that dozens of people complaining about being ripped off by them are all lieing even when the theft is documented on their own website itself ???
C'mon people, be honest with yourselves, and stop defending these dishonest cult-like strangedogs Proboards people.
Yeah anything that has arabic weird squiggles on it must be a terrorist thing.
(Yeah I know (assume?) you were joking)
In Malaysia you can get AlJazeera (It's a news channel for those that don't know) alongside CNN, BBC, StarNews (Rupert Murdoch's Asia News), and DW-TV (German International news) on Satellite.
Please. Everyone knows it is a news company.
The problem is that it caters to islamic extremism. Al-Jazeera has been bin Ladens choice for airing speeches in the recent past. Al-Jazeera puts on a couple of pro Israel news pieces and they think that is a good smokescreen for all of the anti-semitic bias they throw out regularly.
Just because it is becoming more widely available does not mean it does not harbor terrorist sympathies. the reports are so biased it is sickening (yeah, i saw the happy looking hour long special on American TV a few weeks ago too). You can paint a pinto but it is still a pinto.
I've been member of strangedogs for few years now and i have to agree , their moderators are either next to incopetent or flat out thieves. After it has been very well documented that one of their OWN moderators was stealing money from members , 6 months later they still havent closed his Moderator account.
For them it was acceptable that customers did not get stuff they paid up front for 3-4 months and were giving advice like - wait and see -.
I'm sorry for the rant but if this post can save someone from ordering modified MAC GPU card from anyone associated with strangedogs , it's done its job. Luckily i was not one of those who got taken but i can see frustration and understand guys that did.
UPDATE: Well, you knew this was coming... They have announced that the www.strangedogs.proboards40.com forums will be no more soon. Proboards is booting the Strangedogs from its boards and they've lost their domain name, Strangedogs.com , they are admitting. Apparently, all these thefts affecting so many people are catching up to them. So, if you want to get ripped off in the future on a Mac video card by these same people, the new place they are all scurrying to like roaches is www.themacelite.com/forums. And they're apparently now also applemacanix on ebay (according to one of the mods at SD). Gee, I wonder how long that will last before it gets shut down too. These people go through ebay account names like there's no tomorrow.
Updated bad news about the strangedogs moderators above ( now at themacelite.com ) and Applemacanix is at MacLife.com and also at Discussions.Apple.com
It looks like even one of the former Strangedogs moderators posted something bad about them.
It might be worthwhile contacting Applemacanix if you got ripped off by the strangedogs mods since over at themacelite.com, they claim he has their approval and there is some kind of deal between them. Barefeats.com now credits Applemacanix with what basically is a strangedogs/themacelite.com discovery and is promoting that you can buy their stuff there.
Powerbox Technology is even Applemacanix's old ebay name. There is no mention of Apple or Macs on the website, so this guy couldn't possibly know anything about Macs! What a mess for Mac video card buyers on Ebay.

But what strange creepy bedfellows as Applemacanix is really this Linux PC Services company!
