It's basically a higher quality video on a small screen. They're trying to develop this technology onto things like keyboards so you can change keyboard layouts to fit keysets for certain applications. Like this one. Thi of course can be applied to other things as well. The problem they are having, so i've heard, is that the parts for this technology are in high demand and low availability.
My question is, would OLED be high enough quality for this? I'm asking because I've never seen an OLED screen in person so I haven't seen how good it actually is.

As for battery life, I think an OLED solution might take care of that (no backlight needed) and there are rumors that Apple is considering it.
Perhaps OLED can be made quite durable too.
I like the idea but I do see a big problem with people putting it beside keys etc in their pockets and those objects putting pressure on the display.
