    it could be that. Does anyone know if there's a IR receiver on the chin to the left of the apple (about half way between the apple and the left edge of the imac about 3/4" up from the bottom) ??

    I bet it says in the manual.



    Probably one online at apple.com though.

    I looked at the online Apple manual (never did unpack the keyboard, mouse, manual, etc) and it show the IR sensor where the Apple logo is - not 8" away from there.

    Yup, just found that myself. It's behind the logo.



    You know, I think it might just be a flaw in the plastic...







    Ah well, we tried to find an explanation for it.

    No, it's a flaw. When shining a light on it, you can see it's shadow on the white part behind the clear - it's embedded in the clear plastic on the chin.



    It's going back to Apple for exchange in 20 minutes...
