Does anyone know if this will work in economy seats also? I know business class and first class have power adapters but I didn't think economy seats on domestic and international flights had power outlets. They only have a jack to plug headphones. I have flown internationally on Lufthansa, United, Singapore and Cathay Pacific and unless I am missing something, none of them had any power outlets on economy seats.

    Thanks.

I used one of these on a cross country flight last week and it worked great. It kept the Macbook powered the entire time and even charged the battery about 5%. It works in my car too. I bought it at Best buy for $60.

I think this is a better option than Apple?s offering because you can use it with other devices that use a traditional electronic plug whereas Apple?s power adapter can only be used with a Macbook and on an airplane.

When you use it on an airplane, be sure to check with the agent at the gate to ensure that you get a seat with a power outlet; not every seat on every airplane has an outlet
