The thing that burns me about that- I thought I was doing "them" a favor by having an email address with an "@mac.com" in it. As many places an email address ends up, it broadcasts that there are mac users out there. I can get an email address anywhere, but I chose mine to broadcast a "mac-ness". Now they are going to make it a money issue with me? Well that is unfortunate, because I will simply use the email address given free to me by my ISP. There's gratitude for you...
(Now's obviously not a good time to hit me up for a .Mac subscription fee, so it's just not going to happen.) If I was interested in backup software and antivirus protection, I would buy it or would already have it. So this .Mac offer is useless to me, and charging me to keep my email address is an insult. I know others will feel differently, and possibly be utterly unsympathetic to my plight. Sorry, that is just how it sits in my world.
