Seems odd that they're shipping them directly from China to your porch. I would believe it is cheaper for them to ship by the crate load to some distribution center in Mexico (minus some tariffs) and then off to their final destinations. I had believed that was the delay in getting the shuffles out - guess not.
Nothing odd about that. This supply model started (at least) with the Nano (the scratchy version). I recall that mine arrived via Fedex in three days from Shenzhen (this was sometime in 2005).
Must... resist... temptation.... for 1gb..... arghghgh.... supercool and tiny.... shuffle.... I'm going to get my friend/ parents to hide my credit card somewhere.
My total library at this moment is about just over 1gb but "good songs" is about 400MB. Currently my portable tunes are about 25MB off the SonyEricsson v600i (yes, 25MB you read that right) for chillin', running, on public transport, and it has radio. Though with today's FM radio and ad-blasting and competitions and all sorts of stuff, I can see why FM radio is not likely to be in any iPods as long as iSteve is in charge.

Guess not...
I noticed that too. Through FedEx even!

I predict 10 million new Shuffles sold worldwide in November and December. $79 US, $119 AUD, very affordable little pressie (present) for holidayze.
