How 'bout iTater. VeggoMatic? Maybe iSpud? Does anyone remember the original icon for QuickTime when it was in beta? It was a little brown spud sitting on a green couch. Yup, a couch potato.
Maybe something as simple as the Media Center or Hub. iHub. i. iGiveUp.

Actually a few people came up with on their own without telling anyone, and I think that happened because it's logical. There's simply no other explanation. And no we didn't copy each other it happened just like you said.

Elgato makes a product for the same market called Eye TV. Apple can't name their product such that it's name is a homonym of a competing product.
Calling it iTV would be trademark infringement.
