Herbal teas
I was out shopping today and noticed that there was a couple of herbal teas on half price offer. Im not really a tea drinker, preferring a strong coffee, but decided to try them. I got two and have tried them both.
One is Dandelion root, Burdock root, corn silk, milk thistle, bearberry leaves, liquorice root, peppermint, spearmint, ginger root, sage, galangal root and artichoke leaves, marketed as Detox.
The other contains red clover, nettle leaves, dandelion leaves, burdock root, chamomile, lemon balm, lemon peel, and lemon flavour. It is marketed as Skin Purify
Now I have had a cup of both, and to be honest, all it reminds me of is falling off my bike and getting a mouthful of grass! I also feel strangely slightly dizzy and not quite right.
Can I grow to like these things? Are there nicer herbal teas? Do they actually do anything?

Why not try a good tasting herbal tea, like Good Earth Original. It might be available on-line if it is not in your stores, but I was unable to find the "Original" blend of herbs on their site: Rooibos, Rose Hips, Chamomile, Cinnamon, Lemongrass, Peppermint, Papaya Leaf, Anise, and Orange Peal, Ginger.

No. Think of it as penance for your chemical digressions.

You wont be happy till Im flagellating daily and drinking this stuff will you?
Its entirely by choice, I bought this stuff coz it was half price and was curious.
Im sure I could achieve the same effect by scraping some mould off the back of the fridge and mixing it with hot water.
Is green tea, similar or is that entirely different?

Green tea is alright, and has a bit of caffine -- it doesn't have that weird licorice thing the detox tea does.

I think you should try that. Let us know how it tastes.

This is how we usually feel reading your posts.

tis ok, I understand truth and honesty can make some people feel faint.
Staring up at the stars for extremely long periods could also be a contributing factor.
fight! fight!
You should try it sometime.
Original Christians used to raise their hands, look to the Eastern sky awaiting the sun, much like original muslims. Shame both deny their ancestry and origins by staring vacantly at the floor.

Any awkward side effects after a few days, im sure stuff isn't supposed to move that fast (or else I am very toxic)

I don't remember exactly -- nothing sticks in my head. I was doing the powdered wheat grass at the time, too, which left a much bigger impression.

Green tea, black tea, and oolong tea are all Camellia sinensis, the same herb, just processed differently. Green tea skips the fermentation/oxidation black tea goes through during processing, and oolong is in between green and black, being partially fermented.
Cant do without the coffee though!
I'm a big fan of Lipton's Honey Lemon Herbal Tea with a bit of local honey in it. It's fairly inexpensive, tastes good, and makes you feel better when you're dealing with cold/sinus/flu stuff.
What about foreign honey?
What about foreign honey?
Actually I read/heard somewhere that if you regularly consume a little bit of honey from a honey farm in your area, it can help build up your defenses against allergens. The idea is that a little bit of the pollen from where you live ends up in the honey. When you consume it your body can get used to it and build up its defenses against allergic reactions.
My mom is fond of telling people about how I had an all-natural peanut butter and honey sandwich every day when I was a kid...and I never got sick. That's probably a big reason why.
I'm not much of a tea or coffee drinker, but when I do, Lipton is the way to go. It's cheap and still tastes good.
But the iced teas from Long Island are definitely my all-time favorite...
Only with Long Island Ice Teas can you mix random kinds of alcohol together and still make it taste good :P
What's in those, anyway?

If you can believe it.....
1 part vodka
1 part tequila
1 part rum
1 part gin
1 part triple sec
1-1/2 parts sweet/sour mix
Splash of Coca-cola
I myself never knew about the gin.
