Which MLS service does your wife use? I'm able to get on http://matrix.mris.com/ with no problem using any of my browsers.
It is the MLS here in greater Cincinnati, Rappaporty or something like that. She is geared up to purchase a new laptop and there is no way to convince her that a mac is the answer.
Well, that's too bad. The Mac with Crossover would cover 100% of what she needed and you wouldn't have to deal with pop-ups, viruses, spyware, etc. You can download Crossover office for a 60-day trial on your Mac and use the built-in installer to download and install IE6. Sorry she won't listen to reason.

Well it might help if you provided the exact web site. It's possible that people here could figure out that it could work with Safari pretending to be Windows IE, or something like that.
Otherwise, yup, some boneheads make websites that only work on Windows.
[edit: What I mean by "pretending to be Windows IE" is this: Open Utilities -> terminal and type:
When you next open Safari, it will have a debug menu on the right. Select "User agent" as "Windows IE." Sometimes that's all it takes - the website checks to make sure you're using Windows IE, but doesn't really need it to run properly. It's worth a try.

Here is the website, unfortunately I cannot give you her username and password to enter but that is where the trouble starts. I'll try your tip to see if it works...Thanks

Tried that, got the debug menu successfully, however it only shows the top 1/4 of the page?
I think it is Rappatoni they use in Cincinatti. Have her check with the local Realtor board if they have a link for the Citrix server version. As long as you have the Citrix client for OS X it should open up fine on the Mac. We use a version of Rappatoni here in DFW and the citrix version works. It is kinda slow and clunky, but it works.
Hello out there, need a little help with a domestic issue...My wife is a realtor and cannot get on some websites and has trouble with some help software designed for pc's. I got home this evening and she had dug out the pc and attempted to re-connect it to the monitor, keyboard etc...Since I'm new to mac I do not have the wearwithall to solve these problems...Any inexpensive solutions are welcomed...

STOP! don't spend any money like people are suggesting! My mom is also a realtor and here's what I did for her: Download the OPERA brower and use "mask as internet explorer" now everytime you use MLS the site will think your comp is using IE and you'll be fine.
To do it go the Opera menu ->quick preferences -> Edit site preferences -> network
and under brower identification choose: Mask as Internet Explorer.
Don't waste your money on other stuff if you don't need to. It's too bad I didn't see this thread sooner.
Hopefully now you can still show her the light of macs and get that win pc out of the way.
I haven't found an IE specific site yet that it hasn't worked for and I'm looking at your Cincy MLS site right now.
Tried Opera on my DFW MLS. We have two versions we can use. It actually did work with MarketLinks version. Rappatoni though, would pull up the pages but cut them off about 2 inches down the page with the rest of the page blank. So, you scroll through the 2 inches. Not a good way to work though.
You have a PC with windows on it , right ? You intend to retire the PC and no longer use it ? You have a copy of windows that you are entitled to use on one machine , that machine just became your Mac. Install bootcamp (free) or parallls and away you go. No ?
Only works if you have a retail version of Windows. If you have the "System Restore" disks that came with a PC, they'll only work to install Windows on that machine.
