Of course, a 200dpi display scaled at 2x will look at worst the same as today's 100dpi displays. If resolution independence is used on such displays, not having more detail to display in videos is not the end of the world.
When you full screen a DVD it's scaling things up. Still looks pretty good unless you're used to HD.
I'm with the original poster. I've seen much less to convince me to fork out AU$200 than Tiger. With Tiger we had Spotlight and Dashboard, two really cool features that I use every day. Spaces sounds nice but not that necessary for me and I back up my stuff to DVD as often as I need to so I don't really need Time Machine...so unless there are some really cool unannounced features I can't see myself lining up to buy it.

I would certainly hope that TM will allow you to plug in an external drive every so often (I recommend everyday) and it will update the image on the external drive. Otherwise as you say, MacBook users will not be as likely to take advantage of it.
