    not sure how reliable they are..havent really found a good enough deal to buy a refurb

    Refurbs directly from Apple come with the same warranty and you save a good chunk of the price. I've had my Mini for 8 or 9 months now, and saved about $200 on it. If something is wrong with it, take it back and have it fixed. Get the AppleCare warranty and it's like you got the warranty for free. Then your 3 years with piece of mind.

    On a desktop, I agree. On a laptop, it's a must. Too many parts can be affected by the constant movement of the machine. Not to mention how many things can affect the screen.
