Can't view Flash page in Safari!

I really like Safari, but I tried looking at some Flash content, and it gives me this error:



The page "Macromedia" has content of MIME type "application/x-shockwave-flash". You do not have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, but one should be available on this page.

Well I tried the install, but it didn't seem to fix this issue. Has anyone else had this problem, or know how to fix it?

    well, i haven't had that specific error message, but i did notice horrible playback speeds of flash content on most flash sites -&gt;; which is a big bummer since that's what i do for a living?

    Well, I can't get it to work at all, on any site with flash. Any suggestions?

    Yep, the playback rate is horrible.

    Just to be sure, I visited <a href="http://www.macromedia.com,"; target="_blank">http://www.macromedia.com,</a>; as I felt that the originators of the software surely have a beautifully coded and designed site.

    The Flash loaded fine, but, as I said, the playback sucked.

    I already sent a bug report.



    I was just wondering if anyone else got the error message that the Flash plug-in wasn't installed, and if they had figured a way to fix it.

    Yes, it seems Safari works rather poorly on flash websites. More worse than Chimera in fact. Not good, Apple needs to solve this problem.

    About your problem it does seem that Safari has issues with recognising the presense of certain plugins with some pages. I know I saw one where the QT plugin wouldn't register. Just send those as bug reports to Apple. Slow Flash performance should be fixed in the next revision though it seems.
