As with the iPod, for iPhone to truly sell well, Apple needs to do two things (imo):

    1) Make it compatible with Vista/XP.

    2) Allow third-party smart-phone app dev, for biz users, on par with existing smart-phone competition.

SafariWin does two things towards that goal:

    1) Allows Win-based dev/testing of iPhone applets (as Dave already posted).

    2) The subtle key ingredient: Allows Vista users to run the apps on both their iPhone and Vista desktop! ie: Vista-based consumers who use the iPhone, can use/sync their iPhone applets on their Vista desktop via SafariWin.

There is one reason Safari on on Windows...

    Market Share for iPhone.

    Remember the iPod?

It was paired with one app that crossed over as well.

As I recall, the iPod became quite the success story.

Same deal with iPhone and Safari on Windows. No big deal.

Just another world takeover by Apple.
