File Transfer Protocol-- just as email uses the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) and requires client software, so too with the standard for sending big files, FTP.
You'll need a client on both ends-- lots of Mac users like Transmit, for instance.
You'll need to read up on how to get it done, but it's not that hard. Really, for big files it's the only way to go, short of networked file sharing schemes.
