I'm one of those people who was disappointed that Apple bought NeXT instead of Be. I had used BeOS 4 & 5 on my Powermac 7500 for quite some time. While not polished, it was a great improvement to OS 9 at the time.

Same here. BeOS ran blazingly fast on my (then) PM 8600. At the time I couldn't understand why they chose NeXT over Be.
I've got a BeOS for PowerPC preview disc somewhere, I'm not sure what version it is. If anyone wants a copy I can try and put it up on one of my ftp servers.
