Get a clue, will you. Someone will always have an issue. Some people have trouble with anything they touch. If you make your decision based on anecdotal, anonymous, irrational posts from users of unknown competence, whose systems are in an unknown state of stability, you should just keep the software at the version your machine shipped with and never touch it.
Recently updated both MBP and iMac (both C2D) to 10.4.10. Both machines have identical third party add-ons etc. and both run through same modem (tried with and without router). Safari prob a bit faster on MBP but runs like a tired dog on iMac (lots of GB of free disk space).
I have:
a. deleted Safari cache and plist.
b. run Tiger Cache Cleaner in deep mode, Cocktail, Disk Warrior, etc.
ok, i freaked out too quickly here. I added a new parallels disk along with a recent 'the big cat' torrent and i was down to less than 1mb of space on my drive...and yes, not enough room on the primary drive is a big issue, not anything to do with 10.4.10.
whew. sorry for the wrong posting.
I am having a problem like the one you described your first post, after having installed 10.4.10. It takes forever to do anything. I type and then wait for the words to appear. Doing anything at all makes a beach ball appear. It is making getting anything done painfully slow and ridiculous. I read your post above about what you did to fix it, and I'm wondering if you can explain what you mean. I already ran disk utility and verified and repaired the permissions. What can I do to make this stop? It's driving me mad.
I have a 933 MHz Power PC G4 with 2 MB L3 cache and 1.5 GB SDRAM.

my hard disk didn't have enough room on it, so after i deleted some files the system had room for it to work in.

Ah, I see. Well, I've still got 52 GB available so that's not the case for me! I don't know what to do about this stupid machine! It's going to take me days to get jobs done that I usually do in hours!:
Anyone have anything thoughts? I'm getting kind of desperate!

Run Activity Monitor and have a look to see if anything is taking up huge amounts of RAM or CPU time.

10.4.10 did introduce a new bug that effects quite a few people, me include. My mini has this popping sound coming from the speakers (JBL) anytime I do something that requires sound or just at random. It is pissing me off! The Apple discussions boards are starting to pile up with people having the same problem.

I have:
a. deleted Safari cache and plist.
b. run Tiger Cache Cleaner in deep mode, Cocktail, Disk Warrior, etc.
c. Started up in Safe mode and rebooted.
d. reinstalled update from separate disk.
Still no joy. Any suggestions?

Okay! I might as well see throughout the day what is going on with this machine. Thanks.
