It Has Begun

It is now 6pm eastern time. The first iPhones are being purchased even as I type this. As predicted by the Mayans, the Moon will now fall into the Sun and time will end.

But until then, we should be getting the first unboxing pron, first-hand set-up stories, and actual civilian "I'm using it right now" posts.

I suggest this thread as a place to report on what's getting said.

I predict terms like "Mac zealot" and "Apple fanboy" will become non-pejorative, as "geek" has done.

After all, when everyone is drinking the kool-aid, we can agree to just call it "water".

Hey look, even the AI servers are excited- they've reverted to their random time-stamp ways.

I live down the street from the Pentagon City Apple store. Even though I didn't buy a phone, I had to go by and check out the lines. Not too bad. I have friends who are still inline over at Tyson's Corner. Apparently that line looped, then left the mall.

Security was surprisingly tight. LOL...the mall cops got their 15 minutes. The crowd cheered when the doors opened, and the first few people were interviewed by a reporter. Pretty wild scene. Its hard to believe that a few years ago people were saying that Apple was about to go out of business.

He was summoned like the people in close encounters of the 3rd kind. Via dreams and premonitions...

I admit it, the characteristically insanely close-up shots from our very own AI are the best iPhone pron I've seen yet.

Next up: people get em' activated and start uploading the iPhone in action vids, plus our first honest to God regular Joe impressions of the user experience.
