A couple pet peeves of mine are that the iPhone doesn't have
1. iChat or similar.
2. Video recording
3. The weather icon only displays "73deg" rather than current temperature.
4. Can't zoom on the camera
5. Flash on the camera
6. I think it should have atleast 20GB
7. When talking on the phone I can barely hear the other person, its simply not loud enough during a call.
I'm sure plenty of you feel the same.
iChat would be an welcome addition--there are a number of lesser phones with AIM, messenger, etc.
What do you think of the sms/text message application? I think it's is wonderful, but I hope they add a few functions. I miss the ability to send a single text message to multiple recipients. A 'quicknotes' option would also be welcome. My last cellphone (RAZR) had a horrible text system, but I loved those two features. ALSO, it would be great if you could rotate for a wider keyboard as you can in Safari or iPod/video.
Where are the games? No solitaire?
...as for hardware, I found that my FM radio transmitter does not work with the iPhone. Would be good if future version of phone (or iPod) had FM ability. GPS functionality would be great too.
I agree with you regarding the camera zoom and video features.
Actually, the only thing I REALLY miss is Flash support in Safari (my company site uses it.) and file transfer (specifically for .pdf files in MY case) ... I'm hoping that functionality might show up with Leopard, but it obviously wasn't a show-stopper for me
Current temperature of which city? I have 8 right now. (I'm going to Europe soon)
This may be a stupid question, but did you turn up the volume? My concern is that on the handset sounds muffled.
I want current temp of Fort Myers, FL. But, nonetheless it only displays the icon with "73deg" on it.

The other thing that annoys me is that the ringer is MUCH too quiet. I've missed several calls because I never heard the ring. I use what I think is the loudest ringer (old telephone) and I still miss calls.
Anyone else have this problem?
I've missed several myself. I think the "alarm" sound is the loudest, but I still have it on the default ringer that it came on, I like that.

That was a rhetorical question. My point is that you could have several cities in your weather widget and how would the phone know which one to show? Also, if you have no service or connection, it won't have the data to know what to display.
But I can see how this is confusing since the Calendar app shows the current day.

Have you guys turned up the volume using the rocker switch on the side?? This is a separate volume for the handset/ringer. I can hear the person with the phone a foot from ear and the alarm easily across a room.

Yep.....I've used the rocker switch on the side and still the ringer as well as the voice on the other end is insufficiently loud. Maybe I might have a defective unit.

I tried that as well.
You know what else I think the iPhone needs is some sort of cap to go over the headphone jack because putting it in your pocket collects all sorts of lint and dust inside of the jack.

EXACTLY!
And I do have service and has been working beautifully! I have not lost a single bar. I guess if the calendar is set up for current date then the weather should be able to as well, right? And you could always have a setting in there and have the "default" or "prefered" city's temp shown on the icon.

That's too bad because I have to turn in down.
