Apple will be the largest computer/electronic device company in the world. Apple Corps will be the largest record company/film distributors in the world. Microsoft will be bitching in Congress about monpolies and they will draft laws specifically to curb Apple's growth. Apple will not be 'cool'. My work on this earth will be done and I will return to to home planet.
No, theoretically wirless power is in the near future. It would be better if apple fully developed every idea of tesla, especially the ones when he sort of started lossing it.
He invision charging the entire earth's atmosphere so that power could be pulled down anywhere anytime on any scale. you would never have to charge anything ever again.
(this probably would not work the way tesla wanted it to)
Wireless power will always be vastly less efficient than a direct connection.

I don't think we've seen the end of Apple new innovations.
I'd be very surprised if we didn't see some sort of Car media system in the very near future (iPod / iNav / Wi-Fi / Hard drive / etc - park it in your garage and it syncs with your iTunes library over Wi-Fi, iPhone intergration, Google maps / GPS, based on OS X, etc , etc, etc)
Also, it's in my belief that somebody our kids will look back at our portable devices and think "what? your battery was that big? and it only lasted for how many hours??). Battery technology must surely get better. Think of a MacBook without the extra weight that lasts months on a charge. Then think if all the other stuff that could be made wireless with such battery technology - computers, monitors, keyboards/mice, speakers and all the innovative things that could be done without battery limitations, etc. It's one of those 'hard to think of' ideas that will soemday be so obvious.
Other things - the Mac Pro will get smaller, displays will get very high resolution (again, our kids will look back at our HD and think it looks pixelated), Apple will release more kick-ass software (creative apps competing with Adobe, autodesk), multi-touch will get some very innovative use, the list goes on.
Basically, any market involving consumer electronics that has grown to an appreciable size, and is ripe for improvement is open territory for Apple. It's true that current nav interfaces in cars are utter shyte, even in the high-end systems (BMW, anyone?). Apple could make a real dent there, but the likelihood of them "owning" that market is slim, especially when the auto companies prefer to use their own internal teams to really screw something up.

Hmm. I think I have to disagree with that. I actually think the car manufacturers would be very happy to have a small number of vendors of standard media interfaces. Its a complete bloody nightmare for them at the moment; which I think is obvious! MS are moving this way and Apple should be able to blow them out of the water in the 'aspirant' brands.

I agree and people who spend $50,000 or more on a vehicle won't bat an eye to drop $1000 on a well thought out NAV system. This has the potential to be a lucrative market for Apple.
I've asked this question in another thread. Where else will Apple leverage OSX?
So four years from now what will Apple have done and what will their position in the industry be?
All new nanotube electronics ---
iPhone Unlimited > Computer w/ 1 TB storage; 16 GB memory; slide in chips for OS, applications, etc.; all speech controlled (no keyboard); 3D glasses for single viewing; 20", 24", and 30" wands with pull down flexible screens for group viewing. All wirelessly connected to iPhone Unlimited.
If consumer computing technology has come this far in just two decades, I don't think there will be an end to the innovation anytime soon. That is, unless, someone drops the bomb, and the next innovation is the spear.
Well in a way; yes... "Possibly" nothing "totally" new. But they still have a lot of refinement to do. Which possibly takes another 5 - 10 years.
Continues Unicode support. Better fonts handling and better compatibility with Windows "non standard" unicode.
OpenGL 3 based Core Image, Core Animation, Quartz etc....
Remake OpenAL ( open AL 3?? ) and Makes it part of OSX
More features in iWork to make Office looks xxxx. Especially Numbers ( To me iWork 08 is already good enough. )
A Better Filesystem? ZFS? Reiser4? and other file system?
Apple makes a scripting languages similar to Ruby except it runs on LLVM and much faster?
An Cross Platform OpenGL and OpenAL Based Game Engine that totally kick ass and makes Mac the main Game development platform for Mac, PC, Playstation and Wii.
The Game Engine also spring interest for developer to make Mac games. Since Direct X 10 is Vista exclusive while OpenGL is open standard.
Apple ang google works together to create the next IM network?
Apple Buys out Modo 's company. And decide to make a CAD program that kicks AutoDesk's ass.
( Well that is definitely something apple need to do, or get someone to do. A CAD app on Mac )
Apple brought huge amount of Shares in Adobe or totally buy them out. May be both google and apple would buy them. Google own the Flash tech while Apple owns the Photoshop , Dreamweaver.... etc.
Apple decide to make iWork an Pro App with its black theme. Including a reinvented database app; FileMaker 11 inside iWork.
They also make it available in Windows so most of the heavy app you buy office and production type software are now from Apple. Wether you are in 3D/ CAD / 2D drawing / Design industry.
Or Apple buys Avid?
Hardware:
Desktop Part in Imac. Making it much cheaper and powerful.
MacCube - A Single Socket Quad Core Mac. Mac for Prosumers.
Buying Nintendo? no? How about Sony?
More iphone -
Apple in Gaming console market again?
NAS - Truly a Huge Market. Although it may not have the profit margin apple wants.
An Thin Client Based on Apple TV shape and Intel 's Soc Toplai platform. Combined with Xserv makes it very attractive for SME and departments in Enterprise.
Apple create the next Optical Disc. No more BluRay or HD DVD.
