Excellent point! I'll have to start using it more frequently.

It really is that simple. The porn industry embraced the internet and offers consumers an experience sufficiently superior to that available via pirating. This makes consumers happy and the industry extremely lucrative.

The same is possible with movies, TV, and music. But these industries are busy dragging their feet and litigating. In order to stay in business, they have to figure out how to offer something better than the BitTorrent+VLC experience.

But, the porn industry is also crying. In order to interest potential customers, they must give away some content. The problem they have is that the free content is all that most go there for. There are so many porn sites up, that people can go from one to the other, and back to the first one, getting new, free, content, never actually feeling the need to pay.

DVD sales are dropping a good deal because of this.

The sites that are making money are those out of the mainstream—fetish sites with strong content.

Hmmm, Melgross seems to know an awful lot abou...

I wouldn't characterize them as "also crying". In any sufficiently large population, there will always be people of just about any mentality. As a whole though, it seems that the porn industry has been made more profitable by the internet and they aren't complaining about it.

I'll admit that this is just supposition though. I don't actually have evidence to prove that the porn market is expanding.

    Yeah, ain't it sweet?

Actually, I had a fair amount of companies from the adult industry as clients and customers for my lab, so I'm familiar with the industry. I would even go on a shoot now and then, just to make sure everything was done well, of course.
