    Transmission - Does not support

    UTD tracker

    DHT Tackerless

Still some Tracker bans it ( Although improved a lot )

Still quite slow compare to other client

Personally i dont think there are much choice. I cant even find a proper Emule or ED2K client on Mac. I wish Libtransmission would include ED2K network but unfortunately they have continuely decline it.

I've been using transmission as my BitTorrent download software for more thatn a year now. it's excelent!!

It doesn't consume much power of your CPU and it doesn't take much of your screen space either. you can set it to automatically resize with the number of downloads and enjoy this sexy list of downloads on your background all the time or you can simply close it and follow your downloads speed on your Dock.

Theren's no searchs of anyhing, you have to search your torrents on the web and download / drag them to Transmission.

Oh, by the way, did I mention it's free?

    Well, it is!!!!

    Enjoy

    LH-ABC

You can independently select files 1 reason it blow others away, transmission kinda does that, but transmission keeps getting updated... UGH

    I have migrated from bittorrent->bits on wheels->transmission->LH-ABC

    trust me...

    hehehaha

Curious what people are using now . . .

Transmission seems unreliable at times, although I can never tell as I don't really trust my ISP (Comcast).

Sometimes seems like Transmission needs to be on top for a little bit to get warmed up.

Or maybe it's just slow in acquiring peers?

I heard frostwire is not bad, they got a version for mac as well as well as a mobile version for android. If not, then you could try bittorent.

Transmission "kinda" does that? No, Transmission does EXACTLY that. You can select or deselect individual files before or after you start the download.

And what's so bad about an application being updated frequently? Isn't that much better than an application that doesn't get updated?

[edit]Oops now I see this post was from 2008. My bad.[/edit]

If you are downloading a variety of files at great speed, the best alternative is Ares

I hate how grey this whole thread is.

Also that last link is absolutely worthless. They don't even have a Mac client.
