I've been waiting for a Cinema Display refresh for over a year and a half now...to make matters worse, Apple has removed the direct link to their displays on their online Store. You now how have to dig deep to find the displays page inside the 'accessories' category.
What do you guys think? New Cinema Displays at MW or is Apple stealthily dropping these displays? After almost 3 years of no refresh to the line though, this is probably Apple's only chance left to refresh its line...after this MW, people will probably be buying third-party displays...nobody in their right mind would buy the current Cinema Displays at the price Apple has listed.
I guess this is the end of the line for Apple displays. Nobody's ever gonna pay twice the price for such old specs. While the displays could be updated next week or any following week, I don't see it happening. It would have happened either when the Mac Pro's were intro'ed last week or at Macworld. But it didn't.
My money's going to a third-party display-maker.
Apple is repeatedly disappointing me with a lot of little things lately. And they're all adding up fast. If Apple doesn't at least give old Mac Pro users a 32-bit EFI version of the 8800GT, I might have to reconsider ever buying another Apple product again. These short-lived 300-3000 dollar purchases I'm making are not sitting well with me anymore.
I'm glad I wasn't bitten by the iPod touch 20 dollar upgrade monster. Still, Apple is getting on my nerves lately.

No new displays is the biggest head scratcher to me.
Why do they even try to continue to sell the old ones? They aren't even close to what you can get from other vendors.

32 Bit UEFI cards will come from the vendors. Wait until Vista SP1 is finally released.
I took a look at that DELL but was wondering if there were any other suggestions you guys have for someone doing lots of HD editing?
I've been very happy with my HP LP3065. My only complaint is that it takes a few minutes to warm up and reach normal brightness. Perhaps all LCD monitors are like that and I never noticed.

Pro Movie meeting tomorrow. Maybe new displays then....
If ACD doesn't show up on this meeting that was mentioned recently, then NAB looks like the earliest logical public forum.
Third parties would appear to be the way to go for now.
