It is a portable "cube" in a way but at least it is resonably priced. For myself I much rahter have one of the other books if I needed a laptop.

For Apple it also serves as a testbed for new technologies like solidstate harddrives and wireless optical drives and wirelss booting.

Now if only Apple could make a decent quadcore minitowee

Look, if your laptop usage are more to home use, then the MBA is NOT for you. If you are looking for a strictly to business laptop then the MBA is for you.

Its as simple as that. Thats why I kept saying Apple should just make the MBA as 12" so they wont be many people complaining bout it specs. Why I say this? Cause in people thinking, 13" is not ultraportable, problem is Apple market their 13" MBA as ultraportable which result in a lot of people (including myself) begin to complain bout its functionality.

Since you are like me, what I hope is Apple to produce the next MB something like MBA but still maintains the features found in MB (number or ports and etc), extra neat features that can be found in future MB like dedicated GPU and illuminated keyboard will be nice.

Thats bullshit. Try using your air on a flight from london to singapore. The battery would run out and where would you be?

...buying a TZ which is a proper super portable.

Personally, I would have liked to see 2 USB ports as a bare minimum and ideally four. I also think there should have been an Ethernet port. The reasons for this are:
    • Attaching a USB mouse

    • Attaching a priter

    • Using a USB broadband modem (very big in Europe)

    • Charging iPhone/ iPod

    • Using USB memory devices

    • Using USB

I am sure this will be fixed when it is improved. Perhaps the addition of a USB hub will fix this?

Even so, you gotta love this Mac, even if its Mr Jobs m,aster plan to make us own two instead of one.

No you dont. This mac is for chumps.

I understand that for MBA to reach that thinness they need to do something drastic, eg: changing the battery to integrated, what I am saying in say no to integrated battery is for the MB and MBP cause Apple has the craze of slimming their product up.

Sorry mate but I dont fly in business class - there is no power adapter available in most economy classes.

Plus I thought the whole idea of the macbook AIR was about getting away from cables. Stone me dead if an adapter doesn't have..... cables.

No way. I have external hard drives that require USB cables, various peripherals that require USB, and now I would need a hub to connect more than 1.

I have more cables than I know what to do with... I really dont want any more.

If I had to take a shedload of USB peripherals with an MBA I'd pack them into a carry-on already attached to a USB hub. Then I could use the MBA solo, and when I need the peripherals they're all one USB cable away. Multiple built-in USB ports are fine especially for desktops, but on a laptop they don't buy you much unless they're on multiple buses.

In a hotel room it's AirPort Express all the way for handling wired connections and printers.

The only additional plug I wish it had was FireWire, which would at least extend the capability of the machine in a significant way.
