My magic mouse was causing the cursor to anchor to a word in text and then when I moved it, it would highlight from the anchor to wherever I moved the cursor. Tech support told me to exchange it at an Apple Store. I did and although it stopped the first problem, it had a new one. A battery lasts about 20 minutes before it's drained. I bought an Apple Charger thinking a rechargeable battery would last. NO JOY. Same problem. I ditched the MM.
Instead of getting another one, I opted to buy a "Magic" Track Pad. Definitely not magic. It works intermittently. Sometimes, I have to try the gesture several times to get it to do what I expect of it. I ditched the Magic Track Pad, too.
I'm back to using an old Logitech laptop mouse that works perfectly without any glitches. Apple costs X more than other mice and track pads, and they don't always work. I'm out about $140 with nothing to show for it.
At least, I'll be able to use the rechargeable batteries with the old Logitech mouse.
Apple, get your act together before you charge high prices for stuff that doesn't work as touted.
Comments
1. switched from an apple bluetooth keyboard to a USB one with numberpad, and
2. plugged a "Delock mini displayport to hdmi" cable to add a second monitor.
I removed the bluetooth keyboard from the System Preferences / Bluetooth.
No change
I unplugged the "Delock mini displayport to hdmi" cable from the min displayport.
Yup, that's seems to be what was causing the bouncing.
off to find another cable option
*sigh*
