The new version of Safari is faster but Firefox can RESTORE your browsing session. Safari can?t.
With Firefox if the browser unexpectedly quits for any reason (power outage, system crash, etc) the next time you launch it, Firefox reopens all the websites windows/tabs you had open just prior to the crash. This is a great feature for people who visit multiple sites concurrently. I routinely have 5-7 tabs/windows open when I?m browsing and if/when Firefox unexpedetly quits, I don?t always remember which sites I had open. With Firefox I don?t have to because it restores all those surfing sessions as soon as it is relaunched.
Safari needs to add this feature. Otherwise, I?ll stick with Firefox.
I use FF3 on my Mac, Safari on my Vista laptop (weird I know).
It's just that I do most of my browsing on the Mac, and the fact that FF3 will search through my bookmarks, when typing in a keyword in the address bar is just awesome, as I have almost 800 bookmarks.

Except that Safari does have the Restore function. Look at History-->Reopen All Windows From Last Session
Hmm, ok. Safari's 'relaunch' is not as automatic as Firefox but nice to see that option.

Ability to center click home and back/forward icons to open them in new tabs. Small problem but annoying.
But for Windows, definitely stay away from Safari. Firefox on Windows FTW.
