When I partition with Disk Utility in X, does that have the same effect as "zeroing" in 9 with the "Disk Utility", i.e will my HD come out *absolutely* clean / as clean as with zeroing? Thanks already.

Yes, one has to go into 9 for that.
BTW I have a Titanium now. Just hope that it's bigger than yours, or haven't you even gotten one yet?
