Here is the heart of the Cube problem - the Cube's clear case is not easy or cheap to make. It will never be cheaper to manufacture than the iMac2's case (sans arm & monitor). Also, the fanless design limits the heat dissipation that it can achieve, however, Cube case hacks have installed fans, and if I remember correctly the mounting holes already exist.
There is a "Prosumer" market and a refined Cube would fit it perfectly. Roll out the GHz Apollo in it and add a WD-SE Caviar 100 GB (as I did to mine) and a DVD-combo drive, or even a SuperDrive (slot loader has to be coming). Make the PowerMacs duals until the G5 comes and there you have a perfect line up.
