iChat will be much more or why a WebCam will be next
Though just another speculation at this point, I found some hints in jaguar that iChat will be much more than just another instant messenger. In fact it seems pretty obvious to me, that the next digital hub appliance from apple will be a WebCam (maybe bluetooth/airport enabled - think apple pro speaker in terms of industrial design) The screenshot shows some content of an iChat related framework in jaguar. First four icons on the right are well known buttons from iChat, whereas the next three ones seem new/not integrated yet. mb-sendsong points to an iTunes integration (I think this will bring up some major record companies). mb-mic and mb-camera are the more interesting ones - this is were quicktime broadcaster/iChat and the cam rumours seeming to perfectly merge.

<strong>Looks cool. I like the idea of iChat, but for me, it has one problem. Since Apple only has 10% of the marketshare or whatever, unless an Windows version is released (unlikely), or someone makes a Windows equivalent, I have no way of chatting to 90% of my mates who i chat to on MSN. Because of this, for me it is a cool idea but entirely useless.
Well, iChat is supposed to be fully compatible with AIM, so there is already a windows version of sorts (not sure if you have to be an AOL member to use it, though).
