AppleInsider reader Trevor Long was on hand for the press briefing at Apple's new flagship store in Sydney earlier this morning and was able uncover some new architectural details and snap a handful of interior photos.

Most interesting is that despite its extremely shallow footprint, the three-story shop on the corner of George and King streets is the second largest Apple Store in the world, behind only the Regent Street location in London.

What's more, the protruding atrium out front is comprised of 700 square meters of glass, including the largest laminated glass pane in the world, standing at 15 meters tall.

Inside, the new Sydney hotspot is broke up into three floors -- a (ground) Mac level that features over 90 systems, a 'new product' or (first) iPod level with over 60 handhelds, and a (second) Genius Bar and training level that sports a 20 meter-long Genius Bar.

The store will be staffed by 125 employees across the three levels 7 days of the week, and the Genius bar level has the capacity to honor up to 1000 personal training and Genius Bar appointments ever day.

Apple Store Sydney will hold its official grand opening on Thursday (tomorrow) at 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. For more exterior photos and 3D panoramas of the store, see our report from yesterday.
