Play a QuickTime movie. Is it any smoother?

Drag around an opaque window. Is it any smoother?

If you answered 'yes' to either of the above questions, then you probably now have limited 2D graphics acceleration.

Are you using the iBook FireWire version? I believe you should have already had basic video acceleration and thus won't notice much of a difference with 10.1.5. I could be mistaken, though. Hmmm.

Not even a dual 1GHz G4 can do that (anything other than simple Finder windows).

The R128M has been accelerated since OS X was released.

    Trust me, it's in there.

i have an iBook SE/366 (the original graphite one) with a 4MB Rage Pro. Before, i could get by playing wee little QuickTimes, maybe. Now i can play the full-size AoTC trailer perfectly without a hiccup. Everything else feels quicker in general, and i don't think it's a placebo effect.

Seems like a perfectly reasonable contribution to the discussion. If we start banning members for having an opinion on a topic, it's not going to be a terribly interesting place, is it?

He's got a point to annoy people. Being cynical is one thing, being childishly cynical is another.

Compare your iTunes visuals framerates from before and after 10.1.5

My frame rates are *almost* back on par w/ os 9

they were far below the os 9 standard before the update

I prefer it as it is now - a malevolent dictatorship.

This thread is aboutt Rage Pro support and I would refer you to <a href="http://www.powerpage.org"; target="_blank">http://www.powerpage.org</a>; where there are instructions on how to unlock the RagePro driver for faster acceleration.
