Apple to open second Phoenix store soon

One of Apple's next retail openings may be ready as early as this month in Arizona, according to observations by locals.

Apple's signature black barriers have cropped around a first-floor location at the Arrowhead Mall in Phoenix. In common Apple fashion, the area is high-income; it's also located just off of the 101 Freeway in the desert city.

The store would be the Mac maker's second in Phoenix after the Biltmore Fashion Park location and the fifth in the state.

Opening dates for smaller stores are rarely posted, though one tip suggests it may open on July 31st.

Nope, it will be the 4th Apple Store in the Phoenix area.

    1. Biltmore Fashion Plaza

    2. Chandler Mall

    3. San Tan Village

    4. Arrowhead Mall

All in the greater Phoenix area.

Grr, Apple. Arrowhead is not a "High Income" area. They should put one at Desert Ridge or somewhere where people with a clue would feel safe visiting without having their wheels removed from their cars..

I read not long ago that the Arrowhead zip code has more millionaires or more per capita than Scottsdale (can't remember which). So it's no slacker when it comes to income. I'll be so glad to have a store close by because they have so many more computers on display to test, not to mention the Genius Bar. I hate having to drive all the way to the Biltmore store for that, as infrequent as it is. I hope it doesn't drive the Macmedia store across the street out of business, though.

Too bad for Macmedia, who has not made any particular mark in this valley to date. Survival of the fittest, and all of that rot, leaves Macmedia sucking hind tit. I'll take what The Apple Store offers over what Macmedia offers, any day.
