It's been like this all day. Is there another place I can go to get v 2.0? I downloaded the reset file using the above link but didn't want to try it in case it would wipe out my iTouch.

thats my fear... i dont wanna loose everything on there.

@ Shady. Yes it does wipe everything off. I heard the legit copy from Apple does the same, but I could be wrong. In the end just wait for the official update from Apple.

I received my 32 gig iTouch for my birthday 6 days ago. Now I can't even have the privilege of paying $10 to get an upgrade. I was considering getting an iPhone but now that I see how Apple treats its customers, I'm sticking with my BlackBerry. After 7 years and several models, I've never had a problem with my BlackBerry.

After the wipe, wouldn't you just re-sync your data and be all set? Yeah, you may lose your settings but you are going to go through all those with the V2.0 stuff anyway right?

I wish I read this stuff before I tried anything. I just spent the past 3 hours putting music and videos back on my ipod after it was wiped out. I don't sync it from one computer so it was hell. I'm very weary of getting this update but i want super monkey ball!!!!

    Same here.

I already restored my whole iTouch to try and get this stupid update, but nothing happened.

    I don't know.

I've heard rumors that Update 2.0 is a full ipod update though, so it's supposed to wipe your whole iTouch and restore it with v2.0.

But after it's restored you can just re-add everything from before back onto your iTouch if you have it all on iTunes already.

btw does anyone have any idea of when the update v2.0 will be out for iTouch today? I've been waiting all day for it and the only link that's worked just opens up the iTunes store for me.

so if ur ipod isnt synced to the computer, how do u get whats on ur ipod onto the computer so that when I do get the upgrade, i can put it back from the computer to the ipod.

EDIT: n/m I've figured it out. Now that i'm almost back at where I started at the beginning of the day 12 hours later, I now have to wait for 2.0 to wait.

I just took the iTunes 7.7 & iPod 2.0 updates over Software Update, and I haven't lost anything. Of course, I was NOT in a hurry, I waited for Software Update.

Go to the Apple men, and scroll down to Software Update. Follow the instructions, pretty easy.

So I found out 2 days ago (July 10th) that the App Store on the iTunes store was up but that no body (iPhone or iTouch users) could transfer any apps. That was because apparently apple was trying to turn it into a teaser so you could pick out your goodies and be even more motivated to buy them. The next day (July 11th) I was anxious to get my update and fork over my cash however the when I looked on my iPod Update it said 1.1.4 was the latest. I went to the apple site and what do you know, It was advertised and so I clicked on the buy now link and my computer flipped over to iTunes and looked on the store for a second and nothing happened. So I did some digging and apparently the iTouch 2.0 Software was not going to be on the server until 8:00 PM Pacific time (July 11th) However iPhone users could update now.
