Next G5 WILL be a sphere!!

It looks like someone took 2 iMac bases and glued them bottom to bottom. It has 2 5.5" bays, and has a chrome stand underneith to keep its balance! Has all the usual ports in the back: 3 USB, 3 firewire, ACD, sound, ethernet and modem. It looks rocking. Even has 1 AGP and 3 PCI... very interesting design.

(if you haven't guessed it's just an idea )

Useless. Either give me a better metnal image or an actual picture. You violate NDA either way. Which you obviously haven't signed, nor seen any conceptual Apple products,

MacAgent, I was thinking the same thing...

I think legs or a stand looks kinda stupid...

I may slightly flatten the bottom so it doesnt wobble...

Only I would ad an "EYE" in the center...

    like this PMG5 mock-up...

    kinda reminds you of HAL...

maybe when you put it to sleep it would glow inside the housing of the eye...

    Sort of like this...

    I think it looks cool...

Imagine it with cables coming out the back...

    it would look so organic...

reminds me of the "Bishop" Andriod technoligy from the "Aliens" movie... he had white blood and guts... that was cool looking...

    futuristic...

MacAgent, oops... I didnt see it there...

SpiffyGuyC, The sphere could be liquid cooled...

I think a inner skeletal structure should a geodome sphere... and the boards should be grey istead of green...

On the back there would be a whole about the same size as the front speaker... but this whole would be a silver colored quiet super fan than "super cools" the heat sink connected to the "liquid cooled" water conduit system on the inner side of the exo-skeleton...

    GUYS!

A G5 is serious server & workstation performance material, that means hard drives, that means PCI cards yadda yadda yadda ...

How the hell are you gonna fit big hard drives and lot's of PCI cards into a sphere any smaller than a large beach ball?

    Quit the wanking!
