No tethering, no purchase. My beat up cheap LG phone does tethering; other smart phones do (real, high speed) tethering. The iPhone is in the dark ages without a real tethering plan.
That, and a tiered data plan (more than 50 MB vs. 5 GB) would be nice. Some folks don't need $60/month with their iPhone. I could see paying more than that for a full blown implementation with tethering included. And unlike some who apparently see (or fear) tethered iPhones as a replacement to home internet (ha, right, I have broadband at home for that without tying up my phone, thank you), I want tethering on the road.
Is it SO hard to imagine someone wanting to edit and share PPT or MS Word docs from your laptop over the iPhone to your work?
