MS Windows is now(has been) the Oldhead IBM. Big Blue. The Big 3.
It works but like an Oldsmobile you gotta keep going back to the dealer and getting upgrades and fixes for it.
Undue stress for the common man.
Tell me about it. Once it is up an running PC does have better graphics, in some cases. But the time it takes to install, tweak, configure... I want a PS3, but them controls... I just don't like it, I don't know why. I just don't get that "satisfied gaming feeling" playing a PS3. Weird, huh?
Actually, I think Apple should worry a little. The question has never been if Apple's tech is superior. Microsoft has been able to get away with "just good enough" tech for a long time now.
Granted, the general tech consuming public are growing up with newer generations of users getting ever more tech savvy. But even so, I'm afraid if windows 7 turns out to be decent and/or even good then the erosion of the windows users base may slow down to a crawl. And this is especially so for the PC gamers and system builders running direct X 11.
Does anybody know the approximate release time of OS 11? I have a feeling that OS 11 will user in the era of 3D desktop computing. That will be how Apple continues to push the envelope....thats what I think anyway.

MS cannot shrink Vista down for use on a mobile phone.
MS cannot reduce the size of Vista the way Apple is doing with Snow Leopard.
What evidence is there that Leopard is less stable than Tiger?
utter tosh and FUD.
the biggest difference between Vista and OSX is perception.
That is down 25% to MS fault and 75% to great marketing by competitors.
in actual fact Leopard is a step back stability wise from Tiger.
Gaming??? Go Console!!! Xbox360, PS3, Arcade.
