Save $300 on 2.4GHz MacBook Pro ($1699.99)
Apple authorized reseller MacConnection on Tuesday announced a killer deal on Apple's new 2.4GHz 15-inch unibody MacBook Pro, offering an instant discount of $150 and an additional mail-in-rebate of $150, for a combined savings of $300 (or $1699 net price) through February 2nd.
The deal is the latest from a group of Mac resellers who've seemingly entered into a price war with one another, as they each strive to maintain sales strength during a period of rough economic times and reduced consumer spending.
Two other resellers, MacMall and ClubMac, have also recently teamed up to offer AppleInsider readers an additional 3% off their stock of MacBooks and MacBook Pros, respectively (details).
One of the highlights of those offers is that MacMall is now accepting pre-orders for the just-announced 13-inch MacBook, which includes NVIDIA's 9400M graphics processor, the latest 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo chip, and 2GB of RAM as standard. After instant discounts, rebates, and the added 3% discount, the final price comes out to just $914.18 -- the lowest price we've seen on a current-generation Mac notebook.
