ngmoco developing virtual dog nurturing app for iPhone
ngmoco, the publishers behind app store game favourites such as Dropship and Rolando, have just let loose word that they are developing a new title going by the name of Touch Pets Dogs, a virtual dog petting game which also has a large social networking component.
From the press release:
"In Touch Pets Dogs, players adopt, nurture and play with their virtual puppies through one-on-one touch screen interaction or on play dates with other players? dogs from around the world. The ambitious Touch Pets social network, embedded within the game, allows owners and dogs alike to build relationships with other players and their Touch Pets. Puppies? social lives continue to evolve whether their owners are logged into the game or not, and the results are broadcast for the world to see on the Touch Pets social network dog feed."
The press release also states that players will be able to personalise their puppies with toys, clothing, accessories, grooming tools and "other doggie gear". Touch Pets Dogs will also give players five breeds to choose from, and oddly enough, five canine careers for their pups to choose from, from firefighting to? politics.
Those who may recognise the wide eyed looks of these dogs may remember Dogz, one of the original virtual pet games - whose creator is at hand, helping develop this title. It looks like a more definitive virtual pet title may be hard to find, and the semantic title suggests other pets may be yet to come.
