37signals provides a numerous array of services for businesses, and one of them is Campfire, which allows groups to create password-protected chat rooms to talk and collaborate with their colleagues. Citing the incompatibility and focus on one-to-one chatting as the downfalls of normal IM services, 37signals has done their best to make group chat a less tiresome experience.

It has always been possible to use Campfire in any web browser, but Overcommitted has produced an iPhone native client named Ember ($9.99, App Store) to streamline the mobile use of Campfire.

Featuring an exceptionally clean interface, Ember not only has support for group chatting on Campfire and switching between different chat rooms, but also has live image previews within the chat room view and the ability to view the most commonly used file formats within the application (such as Excel or Word).

With nice interface touches like the 'return to most recent' button that peeks up whenever you browse through the dialogue, and the promise of more features on the way (like direct capturing and upload of photos into the chat), Campfire users will have a largely complete substitute for the desktop variant.
