Any Problems with 10.2.2

Thought I'd start a thread here to see what problems people are having. I have a 17" iMac which I have been running 10.2.1 on for the last 2 months with no problems. I upgraded to 10.2.2 the other day and now graphics seems to have slowed way down. When I scroll through a page is seems to jump now instead of flowing smoothly. Same thing with the dock. Seems to be worse if another application is open on also seems to be worse after waking up from sleep. Anyone else having this problem?

    Well, I have had 10.2.2 since it came out and I've had no problems (haven't seen any differences, really), but my brother started getting random freezes on his blue and white G3. He had to wipe the hard drive and reinstall OS X, which didn't work for a while, until he finally somehow got it working. I think he'll still install the 10.2.2 update, though, because the problem probably had to do with how he had 100 MB of space or less on his HD. Although he ran into some problems, he has now successfully installed OS X on his new 40 GB drive.

    G4 imac here (15") and no problems since installation 3/4 days ago. Can't see any speed diff in anything either.

    I have the exact same problem, Emac, 1gig ram, 700 mhz, when leaving it on for an hour or two it gets slower and slower and slower and eventually I have to reboot. CPU usage isn't really high, no memory leaks, I don't get it. It's good to know I'm not the only one though.

    No problems for me. Au contraire--my system, which is left on 24/7, is not only not slower, but is in fact quite noticeably faster than before.



    Dual 1.25 GHz G4

    1.5 GB RAM

    OS 10.2.2

    journaling enabled

    Talked to an apple service guy earlier about my slow down problem after sleeping. We did a shut down then zapped the PRAM while restarting. Then did another restart after that with the original install disk and ran the disk utility and did the repair disk. No problems on it. Restarted again and it seems to be better. Hope this helps if any of you have the same problem.

    gotta 17" iMac, installed 10.2.2 yesterday. Have not noticed any speed changes.



    But the greatest thing happened:



    It can go to sleep now!!!!!!!!!!, before, if the harddisk went to sleep it had a kernal panic and i had to restart when it woke up. NO LONGER!!!!





    So yay, also iChat doesn't crash as often.

    The Finder is still forgetful: can't remember "Show Item Data" in Computer, randomly forgets font settings and to conform to sort order. Maybe trashing prefs is an option? <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />



    I'm seeing the beachball of doom more than I did in 10.2.1. WindowShadeX, ASM and XSounds seem to work fine. Journaling is enabled.



    I'll let someone else try Duality & Blobber.



    No other problems. Yet. However, Virtual PC seems to be Snappier ?

    No problems here on my dual 1gig. Haven't noticed any speed differences really.

    Well my slow down problem is back. Seems to get worse the longer the computer has been on. And really bogs down after being asleep for a while. The zap of the Pram didn't work. Guess I'll call apple again next week. Any other ideas or suggestions. Guess I might have to reinstall the system or something.

    After installing the 10.2.2 update, I found everything working perfectly, until attempting to burn a CD. My CD-RW drive does not exisit to my computer anymore. I have read of one other user having this problem. Anyone else experiencing this issue?



    I just wrote Apple concerning this matter.



    Feedback appreciated....



    My CD-RW drive (Iomega 40x12x48 firewire) is non-functional after installing the 10.2.2 update. It will no longer read CDs in the Finder, and it no longer is able to burn CDs either. I get a message in iTunes saying, "no CD burning software detected", or something similar.



    I keep a clean, well-maintained system, and I am running 10.2.2 on a 400 MHZ PowerBook G3 Pismo with 640 MB of RAM. Yes, the drive worked perfetcly before the update, and I have done nothing to my system other than updating to 10.2.2.



    Anyone else seeing this problem?

    I found out that by turning my Firewire hard drive off the system lasts longer , so far it's been at least 8 hours and it hasn't slowed down, before it would slow to a crawl, i read somewhere they think it has to do with usb and firewire devices.

    Same slow down issue for me. Just read somewhere else about removing any HP drivers. just did that and restarted. waiting for the slowness to resurface.

    I have had installed since it became available on Standalone updater (SW update's been broken for me since 10.2). No real new issues. I really haven't noticed a speed differemce one way or the other. I have a Firewire CD-RW drive from QPS and an Epson USB printer and scanner attached.



    G4/400 Sawtooth

    768 MB RAM

    i hadn't noticed a difference till i used photoshop. Major slowdown, were talking about 2 minutes for a weak radial blur. will apple reseale another update that solves this, or are we stuck till 10.2.3? can i uninstall 10.2.2?

    10.2.2 on a ibook 600mgz w/384mg ram:



    1: Make sure you uncheck all the languages in Finder Preferences for indexing, even english. If your not searching for anything and usually know were all you stuff is you won't need your system to index all of your HD. I sometimes find that after system updates some things like this are reset.



    2: Photoshop is a big mama. Make sure you have your primary scratch disk set on the drive with the most free space. If your having memory dumps in photoshop you need to reset your scratch disks. You can also set photodhop to use more memory if you have it!



    3: Check you preferences often, sometimes these things go bad or reset.



    4: If the Cd-r/rw drive is'nt working, talk to apple, then the company that makes it. Try to use Disk Utility, reinstall drivers if need be, then try toast if you have it.





    Things that worked befor shoud still work now after a minor update. If a certain command line does'nt work maybe it's just changed. Did'nt apple upgrade the BSD side also?



    P.S: there is a bit in the apple support section that states that system "Haxies" will be detrimental. Mine system seems to be alright.
