There are thousands of TV show and movie titles in the iTS. You can also import any video you buy on Amazon. Why is that not enough to warrant recommendations. I've used IMDb's recommendations to find movies and TV shows I may not have otherwise discovered.
Because it's only recomending what's available in the iTunes store itself- not what's available in general. iTunes video/movies is very limited as far as film and TV are concerned when you compare it to IMDB or Amazon. iTunes specializes in thousands of dreck such as "So I Married an Axe Murderer" and "Real Genius". It's missing the boat on a majority of classics. I doubt it has very few films as a percent to the whole of films prior to 1980.
