Just keep your iPhone under your foil hat!

It just isn't possible to determine theft through vibration. It doesn't make sense. The article was either short on info, or the writer was gullible and didn't do enough research, or else its a belated April Fools joke.

Why am I being overdramatic by questioning your response (which I did not understand) to the article? This article states that the device can determine it is being stolen automatically, based on movement, then lock the device and send an email or phone home/police/security.

Sorry if I was jumping all over you. Just imagined you (people) getting all worked about the idea of an iPhone anonymously calling the cops because of some imaginary vibration sensing formula.

Seriously, I am so pleased to see Apple doing something like this. Recenly I've had $10,000 worth of Apple products stolen from me with no insurance. To boot it, the cop didn't believe me saying "Who has a computer that expensive." Um... me. yea.

Thanks Apple, how about securing the rest of your products now... like say my 8core mac?

This would make it not work when taken but it won't prevent someone from taking it to begin with...

You do now have something like this, yes? -> http://www.tryten.com/products/ComputerCableLockT5.php

And you have also added your computer to your renter's/household insurance, yes?
