Live MWSF 2007 Coverage
Apple no longer broadcasts expo coverage. For those that are not attending the event this year (like me) we are forced to rely on other methods to obtain our instant gratifications and news sources.
With the sites providing live coverage that I have run scross this morning, it seems that we will not be starved for information. Having over 15 sites providing live information, we should be able to obtain a clear picture with information coming from these various sources. Some will even be providing photos (like engadget.com, smalldog.com macrumors.com and maybe Ars... any others?) in addition to their live text updates.

In the past, the following sites have also provided live, text-based coverage as well but currently do not have a live URL setup and active.

Actual keynote should be available between 4:30pm-6:00pm and can be found here:

Plenty of sources. I might suggest keeping all sites that require a manual browser refresh for updates in one window and all sites automatically refreshing in a different window.

They appear to be having a few server troubles at the moment, but check it out in a few hours or see the Google cache for more details.
Thanks peoples.
I'm sceptical about the audio streaming though, that sever[s] will get pounded to the ground.

Having 15 different feeds should give us some perspective.
Anyone know why they stopped doing that?
- Jasen.
Engadget slows to a crawl about 15 minutes in to it.
The other requirement is participation in AI's chat room. I've got a 20 inch monitor so real estate ain't a problem.
I live in NYC, and miss being able to watch the event live at the Apple store in Soho. It was so cool to be able to watch it live with a group of fellow mac heads. Made it even more exciting, like you were actually there.
Anyone know why they stopped doing that?
Cost. It cost Apple an ungodly amount to stream them.
Cost. It cost Apple an ungodly amount to stream them.
And an ungodly amount of people tried to access the live stream, bogging down the whole thing.

Probably because they, or the MacWorld folks, wanted us to hop on our pogo sticks and hop on over to the Moscone Centre and plunk down our bucks for the thrill of seeing Steve Live and On Stage.
I agree with you completel regan, I loved those SoHo get togethers and really miss the fun folks had there-- never saw more laptops in use at one time! I'm sure we must have been present at the same time, since I got there as early as possible and had, then, a trusty G3 Pismo as my reliable.
Of course the SoHo store also had that all night, opening at midnight Tiger Party too...

That's of course a factor. I wonder, though, what the cost of streaming to their own network of stores would be vs immediate gratification and future sales to "the community." I have to be careful or I'll start sounding like Mr Bill in LostWages and wax lyrical about my bedroom walls turning into the ocean whenever I want. If you have infinite money, the digital age may appear like paradise. I rather think Neuromancer's NeoTokyo had it about right.
