The Official NAMM 2007 thread for musicheads

Here's where I'll post all of my finding for NAMM 2007. I'm not attending the show but in a couple of days it starts and hopefully the pre-show announcements are already happening.

I'd really like to see Apple announce Logic Pro 8 but it looks like it still may not be ready.

Maybe a preview and we get it at Musikmesse? 8 has got to be on the way soon now, as much as I love my 7.2 it needs to Apple-fied, it needs STP built in and lots more that I can't think of right now because of real ale.

Yes it's been forever since we've seen some big changes. Right now there's not many pre-announcements. A bunch of Gibson stuff that doesn't really merit me putting some stuff down. Apple is fairly silent about Logic Pro 8. I'm thinking it's going to have the most significant UI changes to since the acquisition and I think we'll finally see sample accurate editing in the arrange window and bunches of stuff that LP users have bytched about for years.

I'm pumped. But not a peep of a rumor has leaked out and that surprises me.

Keep an eye on for this company. MSRP to follow at NAMM

We'll see if it can cut the muster against the growing legions of convolution reverbs.

Man, i would love to go to NAMM. That's all the talk on Jemsite right now. I'm waiting for Eddie Van Halen to come out with his new amp, and Steve Vai for his new Jems. So, i'm Excited. It started today!

Digidesign should be showing some new hardware replacement for the 002 (I hope). All of their hardware seems a little long in the tooth.

Hopefully Logic 8 will get "appplefied" with possibly a Digidesign looking screenset. So many of us have used ProTools for so long it will take drastic measures like this to make us old timers switch to Logic.

The Apogee interface is already killer it's just logic that needs a little face lift.

I know "sniffle" no LP8. I'm also thinking Musikmesse. Previously I thought NAB but that's a bunch of video guys walking around. Apple would be better off to announce LP8 at Musikmesse where the audio guys are and focus on wowing us with Final Cut Studio at NAB

The Symphony card for Macbook is a winner though. 1.6ms latency...smokin.

Digi is silent on the OO3 which is a surprise. In fact I've read a few reports from disgruntled musicians that want to see more ground breaking products.

CME announced some new Keyboard controllers that won't clash with your decor (no Red) and wireless midi as well as a USB interface. I may grab the smallest one and start dinking around with Garageband more.
