No, don't get me wrong, i'm plenty happy with 1.42Ghz, Well you know 2.42Ghz would be nice, but... Back to the subject. I think they should replace the 1Ghz single PowerMac with a 1.33Ghz chip. If they have the processors, why not use them in all the lines?
It would be nice if there was a single 1.25 GHz, and dual 1.33 and 1.42 GHz PowerMacs. That would not only give the other lines some room to move, it would also make Apple not look like a slouch.

I think the 1.33 & the 1.42 Duals would be too similar, but a single 1.33, dual 1.25 or dual 1.42 might be spaced out nicely.
perhaps low yields...or if they're overclocked, perhaps not many overlcock to 1.42...aple normally doesn't go to the decimal so i'm thinking maybe they are pushign teh G4 as much as possible right now?
Sounds good to me, the PowerMac line would look a lot better like this:
Single 1.33
Dual 1.25
Dual 1.42
All computers a bit over 1GHz, the iMac and eMac would have some room for another speed bump when the next revision of the PowerMac lands.

Well, the last two lines have had 1Ghz chips, and its hard to claim any powermac have flown of the shelves lately...so it's probably a matter of Apple having boatloads of these chips, and they need to get rid of them rather than up production on a chip that is close to, but not at, the top of the line.
I suspect that the 1.33 in the Xserve is the same as the 1.42Ghz processor in the desktops. 1U is quite a small space, and the desktops have huge heat sinks - maybe the faster speed would melt the processor in such small confines.

If they were a bit over 2GHz, I would not mind.
